Parked Den's car at Porthcurno by the communications museum (£4 per day) & drove to Sennen Cove in Laz's car to start the walk. Steep descent from Sennen Cove car park to beach taking care not to trip over the single wire straddled across the path at a steep section of the path. Walked across the crowded beach, even at 10:00am, to the road and the souvenir shops. The sun worshipers expecting a hot sunny day and a high tide in the afternoon. A welcome ice cream was enjoyed outside the lifeboat station. Steady ascent from the resort to the National Trust Look-out building on the Mayon Cliff overlooking the Cowloe Rocks and the Lifeboat Station. From the observatory we could see Basking Sharks slowly swimming in the bay by The Tribbens. Two on one side of the cliffs and one on the other. Dennis spotted a seal or porpoise jumping out of the water on two occasions. After a long delay shark spotting we continued along the path towards Land's End, where we spotted the stern of a ship wreck (RMS Mulheim) by Gamper and a shoal of mackerel near the shore by Dr Syntax's Head, probably being chased by Pollock. The sea looked like it was boiling for the whole of the period we were walking along that section of the path. At Land's End we visited the Gift Shop and took photos of the famous sign post showing the mileage to various parts of the world. We also enjoyed a pint in the hotel before we continued to the pottery centre and the farm. Here we consumed our goodies before proceeding along the cliff tops of Pordenack Point & the turquoise sea of Mill Bay. Excellent views along the coast in both directions. Ken spotted a strange object in the sea near the shore of Mill Bay. It was the wrong colour for a rock so we were mystified until it moved. It was a seal sun bathing in the bay. Mill Bay beach very popular with holidaymakers, hardly room to swing a bucket & spade. Steep climb from the bay up Higher Bosistow Cliff & onto Ardensawsh Cliff. As we approached Roskestal West Cliff a large speed boat came hurling towards the coast at Great Knots from way out at sea. The occupants were sane because the boat turned to miss the rocks, at the last second. We missed the turning for Carn Guthensbras but continued up the tarmac lane to the coastguard station, passing the beautiful colour carpet of flowers and the two land marks; a red cone and a black & white square based round tower. Steep ascent to Porthgwarra's busy beach and subsequently steady ascent to Carn Barges. Another steep descent to St Leven Beach and yet another ascent over Pedn-men-an-mere & Minack Point. Very busy by the Minack Theatre and even on the steep steps of the coastal path down to Porthcurno Beach. Short walk from the beach to the car park and a welcome pint in The Cable Station Inn.
