Description:
Travelled to Thirlwall Castle by train and bus. Eddie and Christopher
caught train at Oxenholme. Excellent walk along Hadrian's Wall. Stopped for
ice cream at old quarry by wall. Housesteads Roman Fort very interesting,
worth a visit. Roman Fort ruins have only the foundations in place. Telescope
10p. Walked to Once Brewed Youth Hostel.

Location: Start of Walk

Hazards: Care required when walking on top of the wall. Housesteads Roman
Fort very popular with tourists. Look out for signpost north to Wark Forest at
Rapishaw Gap. Look out for lane to Youth Hostel if a pub is required.
