|||||
Pennine Way No.15 Total: 226.25 miles Description:Leave Hadrian's Wall behind and back to the trudge across the moorland. Good to see natural lakes after the reservoirs. Lots and lots of flies when walking through Wark Forest. Handkerchief used constantly against the flies. Very dark amongst trees. Gravel roads wide enough to make walk comfortable. Woods around trees very attractive. Tea and biscuits served by eccentric old lady at Honeystead Farm. Location: Start of Walk Hazards: Great care required through wood to ensure the correct route is taken. Take a good sized handkerchief to discourage flies flying above head and from having a bite at fleshy parts.
