Description:
Stone bridge across Great Dundale Beck very interesting. Good views
across Vale of Eden. Knock Fell. Lunch under aerials on top of Great Dun Fell.
Little DunFell - 2761ft. Summit of Cross Fell crowded, including children. Badly sun
burnt. Explored ruined cottage on way down Cross Fell. Found fragments of Fluorspar
at old lead mines by Long Man Hill. River walk from Garrigill to Alston.
Highest market town.

Location: Start of Walk

Hazards: Care required when crossing Cross Fell. Very sunny day.
Put trousers on to protect skin from sun.
