112.5 miles to 120.5 miles plus 1 mile diversion along towpath of Shropshire Union Canal.
I started cycling from Cefn Lane at 4:45pm and started walking from the River Severn embankment at 5:30pm. Quarrying from Breiddon Hill has enabled an impressive view of rock formations from the elevation of the flood embankment. I crossed meadows of tall grass after leaving the river bank, before crossing B4393 and onto Four Crosses. I was diverted down Parson's Lane to the Shropshire Union Canal after Four Crosses. I took a photo of a mother swan and her four cygnets around the nest on the opposite canal bank to the towpath. There was an interesting aqueduct over the River Vyrnwy. The canal was not connected at the crossing of B4393 because the road bridge had been demolished and the road levelled. As it was very warm and dry I bought a bottle of pop at a chip shop in Llanymynech. There were excellent views in all directions from Llanymynech Hill. I drove back to the start to collect my bike.
Hazards:
Care is required on the towpath. The Way is not obvious after Llanymynech and around the quarry. Also study maps around mineral railways for path.
