Description:
73 miles to 80 miles. I parked the car in Knighton at 5:30pm down Crabtree Lane, outside a small factory. Having started late I cycled as quickly as possible to Beggar's Bush. There was a steep hill out of Knighton and up to the start of the walk from the River Lugg valley. I arrived at the dyke by Beggar's Bush to discover I had left my maps in the car, so started the walk following the signposts and trying desperately to visualise the route on the map. I followed the dyke downhill to the valley bottom and skirted a field of bullocks just before the road. From the road I continued in the same direction as guided by the finger post. I became surrounded by a herd of bullocks so I scaled the fence and followed the hedge in the adjacent field. Crossing a small bridge I found myself in a field of horses. No signposts were visible. I was lost. I reached the River Lugg but there was no bridge to be seen. After re-crossing the 'bullock' field I eventually found the correct bridge and followed signs for the remainder of the walk without any difficulty. It was a steep climb up Furrow Hill and I missed the stone on B4355.

Hazards:
Care is required in Kington and on Herrock Hill. It was a shame about the haze.
