Description:
48 miles to 56 miles. (Note: Miles not in order). At 3:30pm I parked the car on the lane verge alongside the Dyke sign, where the path leaves the lane and crosses a field next to a lonely country cottage near Catworthy Court. I enjoyed the cycle ride down to Hay and up the steep lane towards Hay Bluff. When searching for a secluded site to leave the bike, I pushed it up a very steep, narrow lane where I was covered from head to toe by flying ants. It was impossible not to step on hundreds of ants. When I started the walk at 5:30pm I walked back towards the open area below Hay Bluff, and followed the new route along the Welsh Border into Hay, past a field of curious ponies which harassed me all the way to the stile. Unfortunately I had forgotten to carry water so I bought two ices in Hay to keep me going. I walked along the river bank past a troop of scouts camping with traditional tents and flag pole. I returned to the car at 7:45pm and collected my bike at 8:15pm. .

Location Map: - www.streetmap.co.uk, - Start: at Hay Buff Finish: Catworth Court

Hazards:
Beware of unfriendly animals, especially ponies. Take care when walking alongside River Wye. It is recommended that you carry a full water container as an ice cream shop may not always be sited on the route.
