Description:
27 miles to 35 miles. I parked my Metro in the entrance to an unused lane at 3.15pm at Trawsll Wyd and freewheeled to the bottom of the lane. I was undecided on the best route to Hen Gwrt by cycle: initially turning right looked the least hilly towards Skirrid or Ysgyryd Fawr, but I then returned to the junction to take the other road towards Pandy. It was a long walk from Penbidwal to the top of the hill where I took a photo of the Black Mountains. There were long free wheel sections down twisty lanes to Hen Gwrt at 4.00pm. Again I chained my bike to the fence at the junction by B4133. At the first stile after the start there was a man snoozing in a corn field. It was a steep narrow lane from Treadam to White Castle where I took two photos. From Caggle Street the signposted route took the official route. The old man who was slowly climbing the hill to St Cadoc's Church with his dog, recommended I bought a drink at the local shop. There was an alley from Llangattock-Lingoed past gardens of the village houses. Before the footbridge there were horses in the field. I crossed the river and railway at Pandy where I saw a Peacock butterfly. There were plenty of good views. .

Location Map: - www.streetmap.co.uk, - Start: at Hen Gwrt Finish: at Pandy.

Hazards:
On this walk there were plenty of challenging stiles and signposts to follow.
