Walk estimated to be nearer 4 to 4.5 miles.
Easy walk but time consuming because scenery very interesting. Not easy to take photo of river and rapids. River quite straight and difficult to get down to water level because sides of ravine are very steep except for a few places. No fishermen spotted but river obviously very popular with fishermen. Signs that fishermen use ropes to descent themselves and tackle to water level. Old bridge just before '5' with central stone pillar. Bridge spanned with steel which has almost rusted away. Salmon or trout, probably trout because the fish were dark, jumping up the falls at this point. Patient required to see the fish jumper upstream. Fence between path and steep drop to river in many places '8' to '9'. Sylvia read her book in the car.
