Parked in road opposite road to church at '2'. No fence after '3', turn left up track before churchyard, no stile, some graves in churchyard have wooden crosses. At '5' take right fork off track 100yards after cattle grid rather than path sharp right just after cattle grid. At '7' take track through hedge rather than concrete road infront of houses. Bushy trees down drive to Houghton House prevent a good view of house. No stile at '10' continue down avenue of trees to house boundary fence. Turn left down track on edge of park. Turn right over stile in sip and follow footpath across field to stile opposite. Turn left just before stile along edge of field to stile in corner of the field. No gate at '13' Follow track around hill to right of the car park just before '14' Care required at '16' follow field edge. Care required at '17' take track right from high point down valley through trees to new bypass. (No stunted tree found). Almhouses on opposite side of the road. Return to '17' and continue down track through gorse to gate and memorial.
