Points of Interest and LINKS:
AA Walks Llanthony Church Llanthony Priory
Walter Savage Landor Llwyn Celyn
Description:
Started to drizzle at point '2' and became progressively worst as the walk continued. Christened Sylvia's new Regatta Gagool and it was quite successful considering the amount of water it had to repel. Climbed stile at '3' and was immediately confronted by a herd of young curious bullocks rushing towards me. I quickly reversed my tracks and scaled the stile again. Skirted field in question and Wiral Wood at gate while bullocks were occupied at opposite end of the field. Horses in field between '4' and '5' ignored me. Continued sign posted circular walk at '5' by turning left onto bridled track which had obviously been previously well used by the local pony/horses treks. The track was extremely slippery with hoof tracks inches deep in mud. Walk recommended in dry clear weather, especially not after rain.

Parking beside Llanthony Priory.

Hazards:
Could not find point '7' after bridge, assuming bridge was a high track over a stream, not a conventional bridge. No obvious gate or right turning found. Continued way past '8', so returned and made a descent looking for a track. Horses very frisky just before the Priory.

Photos:
Five photos, Rhododendron and ruins of Llanthony Abbey
