General:
(Breakfast at Morrison's, Evesham and cup of tea at Killerton
National Trust property.) Laz and boyz dropped me off outside The
Beach public house by Exmouth Harbour. Started walk from
Starcross Ferry within the harbour and walked along the esplanade
by the sea wall, passing the Maer and RLNI lifeboat station. Just
after the station I walked up Foxholes Hill for a short distance, then
took the cliff top tarmaced path to the right towards Rodney Point
and Orcombe Point. Geoneedle at Orcombe Point to celebrate the
western end of the Jurassic coast, unveiled by Prince Charles in
2002. Continued along the top of the bright red cliff and sands below.
Good views along the coast and especially across the Exe Estuary to
Starcross, the cliffs of Dawlish Warren and beyond, Soon reached
the large caravan site at Sandy Bay by the firing range at Straight
Point. Walked along the firing range fence by the caravans to the end
of the caravan site, hoping the caravan I was staying at with Ken,
Laz and Dennis was going to be at the east end of the caravan site.
No such luck, phoned the boyz to find our caravan at No 3 Damson
Green, the western side of the site. (Fish and chips from the
entertainment centre before a walk along the beach of Sandy Bay.
Lost at dominoes and cards as usual).
