Parked in Thurlaston Village opposite the phone box and walked through the village, past Rose Cottage & St Edmund's Church to the reservoir. Walked clockwise around the water's edge on the footpath/cycleway. Soon arrived at the new walkway at the north east corner of the Water, near Toft House. Couldn't resist a first walk along the walkway over the water and through the trees. Excellent for watching the local wildlife. Continued along the reservoir walls to Hensborough Hill and the Sailing Centre. Tried to purchase a cup of tea, but the restaurant had closed. substituted hot drink with a swig of water and continued the walk along the southern edge of the reservoir wall, passing the duckling and the signets with their mothers. Short rest on the south west reservoir wall to savour the tranquility and scenery, while watching a fisherman land a large fish nearby. Continued the walk northwards as the occasional jogger and cyclist passed by, also enjoying the spring green views westwards over Draycote Village. Turned the north west corner of the reservoir along the undulating path back towards Thurlaston Village as a horizontal cyclist passed at a high rate of knots. At each turn of the walk we disturbed more rabbits grazing along the path edge. This is bunny country around Thurlaston Grange and Grange Farm, some rabbits remarkably tame. Turned from the reservoir path up the slope back to the village and the parked cars. First walk with Sally, another welcome and enjoyable therapeutic walk in the Warwickshire green countryside.
