Sylvia was reading a book in the car park. £1.70 all day. It was very difficult to find a correct path as there were parts in all directions. From the car park I took the road downhill to a gate, then turned right at the gate and followed a good path to the beach. Before the beach I took the faint path to the right across 'bents', before a large dune just before the beach. No railway sleepers were found. At the black diamond marker I turned onto the beach over the dune and walked along the beach to Gullane Point. It was an easier walk at low tide; it would be difficult to negotiate rocks at high tide. From Gullane Point I took one of the many paths towards the high ground of Buckthorne Clump, just before the golf course. It was a good track from '7' to the viewpoint, although it was difficult to see the view due to very tall gorse. I followed the track along the top of the cliffs, initially by the golf course, back to the car park. Again, there were many tracks to choose from, especially around Maggie's Loop and Corby Craigs. The location of Corby Craigs is not known accurately and the picture on the information sheet is not at the same location as the map. There was plenty of flora and fauna to observe if time allows. There were good views across the Firth of Forth to Fife.
Hazards:
None.
