Sylvia read her book in the car and waited for my return. Parked at St Mary’s Church field car park 10p. Walked from car park past pond into village to take photos of the thatched cottages. Looked for the path to start walking but I had taken the wrong land off the village road. Walked too far south in my haste to photograph the houses. Returned to pond and found the correct lane. Surprised to find Millennium Seat just after ‘2’. No one around so I had a leak by kissing gate just after seat. I was disturbed by two ladies who were walking back from the beach. Good fenced path to beach. Two youngsters were almost blocking the path just before steps to beach. They (teenage boy & girl) where chilling out on the grass in the sunshine, oblivious of my presence until I almost stepped on them in turn as I passed. Good views of estuary and along the coast path. Flat coastal rocks visible from cliffs, because the tide was out. Skirted Kilve Pill passing gate and remains of a very unusual stile. Continued up lane past plentiful parking to fragile ruins of Kilve Priory and the church. Passed through the Lych Gate to track past East Wood and return path to St Mary’s Church car park.
Excellent weather and excellent views for this first two miles of an excellent walk.

Hazards: Take extra care when walking along cliff tops. On this coast the cliff tops crumble easily because the tops of the cliffs consist of loose soil. It is always tempting to get too close to the edge to take a better photograph.
