Points of Interest and LINKS:
AA Walks Blakeney Blakeney Nature Reserve
Blakeney Chapel Cley next the Sea St Nicholas Church
Description:
Left Sylvia in car overlooking redevelopment works of quay. Bird sanctuary opposite side of sea wall (mount of earth) from car park. Amazing variety of bids and ducks, most unrecognisable apart from a heron. Walked along the sea wall towards sea with good views across nature reserve to wall of single at top of beach. No access from the sea wall to the beach, deep and wide tidal channel separating the two. Good views of windmill from sea wall. Workers cutting reeds by windmill for thatched roofs. Walking into cley to windmill for photos. Private dwelling not possible to enter windmill. Angela spotted date over window 1793. Returned to road, excellent walk through Cley and Blakeney villages, houses very intriguing. Constantly watched for moving vehicles, dangerous at times.
