Long walk down drive to point '2'. At '3' turn right and continue along tarmac road. At '4' turn right at 'no cars' sign, track does not fork. No gate at '5', post at '6', at edge of wood, did not find Doodle Oak. Scattered young deer between '5' and '6' several times. Portingbury Hills only mounds of hearth not hills. Take left track at '8' at end of Portingbury Hills. No gate between '14 and '15. Generally everything is closer than you think. Obviously, the wood has never been cultivated.
