Description:
Left Sylvia in car park in centre of Durness, no other car in car park. Grave stones in Bainakeil Churchyard very large and elaborate. Hard going along Bainakeil Beach and to Flifnam. Continue on tarmac/concrete road from pints '5' to '6' between two very large sand dunes to Flirnam, expecting dramatic scenery, possibly the very large rock further along the costs, only found a small cove with a big drop down to the shire line. Tide out, only a flat rocky bed of dark rock. From '7' only slightly right then left to the partly collapsed buildings, subsidence slowly destroying buildings, rabbits running around. From '4' back to Durness more large sand dunes at '10' disturbed large bird in grass with a long bill. Several small birds flying around steep sand suns, too steep for grass to grow. Skirted bullocks in field after '13'. Please to be walking down rough road between fences after '14'. Large lone ram in field next to rough road, snorting with frustration. Higher mountains in cloud, cloud base at approx. 2,500ft, sunny weather in west out to sea. Weather forecast showing most of Scotland enjoying sunny weather.
