We had trouble finding our way at first in the rain and took a slight detour until we saw the finger post leading across the fields. We went down the steep slope into the ravine which is an offshoot of Lathkill Dale and met a small party at the bottom. As two people were blind the party walked very carefully to accommodate them. A passing walker took photos of the three of us on an old stone bridge, using an old digital camera with almost used batteries. Eventually we reached the road near Youlgreave, having met lots of people walking in the opposite direction. From the road we walked through fields of bullocks but had no problems. We walked through the centre of a deserted farmyard just before Lathkill Dale. We sat on a low wall by a stream in Lathkill Dale for dinner, watching a duck and a moorhen. There were excellent views near the end of the Dale.
