|||||
Pennine Way No.6 Total: 108 miles Description: Good walking ground. Long “Green Road' for easy walking. Mostly steady gradientsall day. Made good time. Did not enter Sell Gill Holes, just peered inside. Very picturesque around Ling Gill Bridge. Shopping for food at Hawes Village. Filled watercontainer at Hawes and carried to Hardrow, very heavy. Plenty of water at Hardrow camp site. Lots of flies around as Chris and I pitched tent. Cooked a meal to discourage flies. Had a couple of pints in Hardrow pub as a nightcap. Location: Start of Walk Hazards: Walking relatively easy on 'Green Roads'. Do not enter Sell Gill Holes without a light and extreme care. Not recommended. Deep ravine at Long Gill. Scenery of rolling moors. Click Here to Go to Previous 'Pennine Way - No. 5' Click Here to Go to Next 'Pennine Way - No. 7' Click Here to Return to 'Lifetime of Walks' Homepage | |||||
